Children and their parents across the country celebrate Knowledge Day, followed by the First Bell Day for first-graders and the first school day in schools, universities and other educational institutions. On this day, traditionally in schools people arrange solemn lines, concerts, other events. The universities also celebrate this day solemnly. They hold concerts, invite famous graduates, state, and public figures and so on. Freshmen in many educational institutions undergo the so-called initiation rite. The Day of Knowledge is widespread in the countries of the former Soviet Union, and in many European countries, for example, it is not celebrated at all.  Other news and events
